A Luxurious Fairmont Wedding

11 Feb

A year before Amanda & Anthony celebrated their wedding at Fairmont Château Laurier, we met them at Engage Ottawa, a boutique bridal show. Little did we know that we would be filming their spectacular wedding at the very same venue less than one year later.

Kizil & Sean’s wedding: the most beautiful thing

26 Jan

Oh, these two! Kizil & Sean are an elegant, playful couple who remained light-hearted even though falling rain was threatening their outdoor ceremony. Guess what happened next? The clouds cleared just in time for the two to be married outside as planned!

Watch all the wedding day beauty amongst the vintage barns of Stonefields, and you’ll meet a sweet dachshund wearing a bow tie (who normally spends his days at Kizil & Sean’s popular pet boutique Cricket & Company) and witness a fun and touching mother/son dance.

Love as bright as ever

15 Jan

Kizil & Sean were married at Stonefields this past October. What a treat is was to finally create a wedding film at this venue and for such a loving and cool couple!

Knowing most newlyweds ideally want to share their wedding with family over the holidays I worked extra hard to have this film ready before Christmas. The day after Kixil & Sean received their film the bride sent me this lovely note – what a sweet gift it was to receive on Christmas Eve!

Bridget!!!!!!!

Wow!

Sean and I have watched the video at least 10 times since yesterday. You made our wedding look so beautiful. We cannot express how much we love it. You are truly talented and we are so glad you captured our wedding on film. You were a treat to work with from start to finish. You were nothing but professional and easily reachable (especially through my innumerable and probably annoying questions). The day of the wedding, we were all so surprised how undetectable you were. I mean this in the best way possible. You were not intrusive at all, but you captured EVERYTHING! How did you do it?

Sean and I are so glad that we choose you as our filmmaker. Film as a medium has the capability to capture complete moments, sometimes, the moments need time to develop. You captured all those moments and combined them so beautifully into a complete summary of the day. Not only did you capture the excitement of our family and friends, but you were able to grab private genuine moments. Our film was exceptionally edited, there was not one bad frame. Start to finish it was flawless. Bridget, you are a very talented woman.

Finally, I want to thank you for finishing our video before Christmas. What a great gift it was to share our special day with family and friends. You went above and beyond to find a server to host it online for everyone to see. I’m pretty sure my mother has been playing it on loop since I sent her the link.

Again, Sean and I very grateful for your work. We would not hesitate to recommend you to our family and friends.

Happy New Year film lovers!

We’ve been wanting to share this film with you for quite a while but due to some technical issues have only been able to post it now. So finally, here it is! And really, we are thrilled to start 2015 with Jen & Jess’ lovely wedding day under a bright blue sky.

Here’s to a new year filled with love and beautiful first kisses.

Two brides, one love

28 Nov

These beautiful brides were married at an outdoor ceremony at Stanley’s Olde Maple Lane Farm on the most perfect summer day you could imagine.

two brides Jen & Jess received their vintage wedding film yesterday evening. I received an email this morning from Jen saying, “We watched the film four times in a row before going to bed last night. It was beautiful. Thank you so, so much. You did an amazing job… It really captured the essence of our day.”

Family Film package available for bids this weekend!

20 Nov

It sure has been quiet around here! Fall is always our busiest time filming weddings and now we are focused on getting every film edited and into the hands of our clients before the holidays. But there are always side projects that come up that inspire us to get involved and share what we do for a good cause.

One such project is Bettye Hyde’s Co-operative Early Learning Centre’s annual fundraiser.  Thanks in part to the generosity our wonderful post-production houses, Niagara Custom Lab and Frame Discreet, we are donating and { Day in the Life } Family Film to their silent auction. There will be lots of other amazing items up for grabs such as original artwork, spa gift certificates, tickets to the NAC, and a fabulous photography session from Kim Ing Photography.

So if you have been wanting to book a Family Film session with { First Kiss Films }, this may be your chance to purchase one for much less with all proceeds going to an amazing school.
