Creating a cool music video in 2015 by crafting it old-school

28 May

Earlier this year we were thrilled to once again work with Montreal director Dominique Laurence, this time on a music video that was shot entirely on 35mm and 16mm film! Using the very same vintage cameras we shoot our lifestyle films with and rolls of expired film, we helped capture some of the footage you will see in Salomé Leclerc‘s latest music video.

By choosing to shoot on film stock, the team was later able to distress the footage by hand using sandpaper, ink and bleach and create a final video that has a wonderful texture and depth that cannot be achieved with HD. No digital post-production effects were used!
