Lauren & Kyle’s modern school house themed wedding

26 Mar

This week’s vintage wedding film combined everything I love about weddings: classically gorgeous details with modern touches, working alongside some of my favourite Ottawa vendors, and a sweet, down-to-earth, fun couple so deeply in love.

Lauren & Kyle’s wedding design was chic down to every last detail. As both are teachers a schoolhouse theme elegantly inspired the day using a colour palette of slate grey & aubergine. Their ceremony was held at Blessed Sacrament Church (the very same church my parents married 40 years ago!)  and was followed by cocktails in the all glass Lantern Room of the Canadian Museum of Nature.

Since Kyle’s family is from Jamaica the cocktail hour brought a taste of island life with Caribbean cocktails,  Jamaican passed hors d’oeuvres and a steel drum band. As guests moved into the reception hall filled with manzanita branches decorated in carnation balls and cascading phaleanopsis orchids we all knew this was the beginning of a perfect evening.

This is wonderful B! You are soooo amazing…capturing the sweetness, beauty and romance of the day as much as the fun and love and energy of the celebrations down to the lovely details… so touching…what an amazing treasure! xx Oh I love your wedding films!
