{First Kiss Films} donating 5% of sales

25 May

Having been a volunteer with the Burundi Film Center since it launched in 2007, it’s an organization I have remained deeply passionate about and involved with ever since. The Burundi Film Center provides free training to local youth, on the basics of film theory and production in a part of Africa that feels as though it has been neglected by the international community. For example, compared to its neighbour Rwanda, even though they have both dealt with huge ethnic conflicts, Rwanda continues to receive much more attention and support.

Unlike surrounding countries, there is no other film training available in Burundi and there are so many passionate and talented people who want to work with film. And you can imagine the incredible stories they have to tell.

In 2007, I spent a few months in Burundi’s capital, Bujumbura helping the film school get off the ground and it was an incredible experience I will remember for the rest of my life. I believe so much in this cause and because it is film-related, { First Kiss Films } is announcing we’ll be giving back by donating a minimum of 5% of sales to the Burundi Film Center.

For those of you who would like to make an online donation towards our next training session, please visit our brand-new sponsorship page where you can help make a difference by giving as little as $2.00: www.indiegogo.com
